Trippie announced his debut studio album officially on July 31, 2018 via his instagram account.
Trippie Redd has had quite the start to his music career. The Canton, OH born artist relocated to Atlanta and burst on the scene in May of 2017 with his mixtape “A Love Letter to You” with the single “Love Scars” which would go on to reach over 13 million plays on Soundcloud and another 8 million on Youtube in almost no time. The official video has amassed over 51 million views.
The tape also featured the popular collaboration with New York rapper Tekashi69, POLES1469.
Trippie released his second mixtape “A Love Letter To You II”. It reached 34 on the Billboard 200. He also released a mixtape with Lil Wop, “Angels and Demons”.
In December of 2017 he dropped a song with Travis Scott, Dark Knight Dummo
Trippie was named a member of the 2018 XXL Freshmen Class on June 12, 2018. He took part in the interview and freestyle but did not participate in the cypher.
On August 6, he partook in an IG live with Tekashi69, who had just got off with DJ Akademiks who he would later rejoin with, to discuss Trippie’s estimated album sales. Trippie declined to take the bait, citing that he had court situations which prevented him from a proper rollout with press. He also said that he was a changed man and that he was positive before leaving the live chat.
On the eve of his album release, Trippie took to twitter to drop a new single ahead of the album release.
The album will be released by TenThousand Projects/Universal Music Group. The playlist was released a few days ago. The album features collaborations with Young Thug, Reese LaFlare and Travis Scott. The album features poduction from Scott Storch, Honorable CNote, Diplo, Murda Beatz and more. It was mainly recorded, mixed, and mastered by the homie Igor Mamet at Hitway Recordings in Hollywood, California with Boaz Van De Beatz assisting on a few tracks. Dark Knight Dummo mixing responsibilities fell to Mike Dean. Patrizio Pigliapoco, Mike Bozzi, McCoy Socalgargoyle, Fabian Marasciullo, and JR Rich also handled recording, mixing and mastering duties.
